Kritzinger Architects have submitted a concept design for a new 150m2 beachfront cottage in Paternoster, West Coast, South Africa. The design is in keeping with the humble local fisherman vernacular, where elements such as 'bakoond' fireplaces, flat roofs and small facade openings are celebrated.

Plettenberg Bay House
The four-bedroom home is set on a ridge overlooking a golf course in an exclusive Plettenberg Bay residential estate. The house is nestled into the hillside, with all rooms overlooking the valley below. A large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is located on the lower level and roofed over with an indigenous landscaped garden which is overlooked by bedrooms on the upper floor. A wide entrance passage and staircase forms a strong arrival axis offering direct views of the golf course and pool from the entrance lobby. .

Our double dwelling residential project in Camps Bay, Cape Town is nearing completion with handover programmed for December 2024. The site is located at the foot of Table Mountain offering magnificent views over the Atlantic Ocean. The sunsets are magnificent!

We are proud that our collection of boathouses designed designed for Coot Club has won the Conde Naste Hotel of the Year Award.
"The timber-lined interiors of Coot Club create a destination to reset from daily life and reconnect with nature. Inspired by the concept of a boathouse, the lodges 'float in nature' above the terrain on stilts with plentiful natural light and sailing nostalgia" Conde Naste.

Kritzinger Architects have been appointed for the design of a new getaway cabin on the shores of the Langebaan Lagoon. The beautiful site is located within the West Coast National Park. We are excited about this one!.

We are honoured to have been asked to assist our friends Laurence Dougier and Frederic Couderc with the renovation of their barn in rural Brittany, located on France's Atlantic Coast. Laurence and Frederic have done a wonderful job bringing the derelict farm building back to life! The newly refurbished farmhouse is featured in the June/July 2024 issue of VISI. We are delighted to hear that Coot Club won Best Hotel at the 2023 i-ESCAPE Hotel Awards. Kritzinger Architects led the design of the boutique nature retreat which is located on the Klein Rivier near Stanford.

Kritzinger Architects have been appointed for the second phase of interior design work for a residential development Cape Town. The first phase of the development comprising of three new apartments and a penthouse was recently completed by the practice in 2022.

Jed completed this 1600mm x 600mm artwork of the Twelve Apostles for a home in Cape Town. The painting compliments the interior of the new home, reflecting the colours and textures of the decor and surrounding landscape.

Kritzinger Architects have achieved Heritage approval and Town Planning (LUM's) approval for a new residential development in Higgovale, Cape Town. The development comprises of six town house units as well as alterations and additions to a historic Manor House. Building Plans are being prepared for submission by the end of this year.

A new dwelling in Camps Bay, Cape Town is currently under construction. The site is located at the foot of Table Mountain, offering spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean as well as Lions Head and the Twelve Apostles mountain range.

Lovely to see some new photographs of the home in Higgovale, Cape Town completed by Kritzinger Architects a few years ago. The new home has now settled into the beautiful landscaped garden designed by Franchesca Watson and implemented by Ross McGill Landscapes. The home was featured in the April 2024 issue of VISI.
